Wages starting at $18.40 per hour + $2 Shift Differential: Wage negotiable based on experience

 Wausau Supply Company distributes building materials from the industry’s leading manufacturers to authorized retailers from the Great Lakes to the western Rocky Mountains. Our territory continues to expand as we continuously strive to meet the demands of our customers with seventeen distribution centers and five fabrication and finishing facilities.

The Distribution Material Handler is responsible for quality control, sorting and maintaining flow of materials. Wausau Supply Company is a Building Material Distributor that supplies 24 hour customer delivery; warehouse personnel are responsible for all aspects of fulfilling that business commitment. In order to be effective as the Material Handler, individual must be fluent with communication and it is imperative that positive relations with all internal levels of the organization remain uncompromised. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (not limited to)

• Use of hand held computer to receive incoming and outgoing freight
• Picking product with forklift for Customer Orders and staging for loading
• Loading orders on semi-trucks
• Unloading stock onto racking

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Good to Exceptional Mathematic skills are essential
• Reading / Comprehension essential
• Forklift driving preferable but will train
• Punctual, Self-Motivated and Reliable
• Exceptional Customer Service Skills
• Exceptional Organizational Skills
• CDL is beneficial but not required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.    

• Must be able to able to hand lift 100 pounds occasionally, 70 pounds repetitively
• Products of 100 or more are lifted with forklift

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  

• A Warehouse / Material Handler will be exposed to all weather conditions
• Flexibility with hours and schedules is necessary due to work days of 10 plus hours during our peak season
• Current 2nd Shift Schedule: Monday- Friday 2pm-10:30pm / 2pm-12am Rotating Weeks
