Supply Chain Team Lead

The Supply Chain Team Lead position will manage the day-to-day tasks of the Buying/Planning team for purchased components and manufactured finished goods relative to our manufactured brands.


Duties to include (not limited to):

  • Overall ownership of the day to day buying and planning functions for our manufactured brands
  • Maintain optimal inventory stocking levels to support internal operations and product levels throughout the distribution network to support customer order fulfillment
  • Develop and maintain a complete understanding of the Buying & Planning processes and procedures for our manufactured brands
  • Provide visibility to situational issues or challenges with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Manage strategic/critical supplier relationships to foster partnerships
  • Assist in resolving day to day departmental tasks and help work through issues presented by the buyer/planners
  • Own cross training and on boarding processes for new Buyers/Planners
  • Develop and maintain a “subject matter expert” knowledge base within ERP systems
  • Participate as a member of a Project Team and/or Cross Functional Team as required and other related duties as assigned
  • Continue to have some regular Buying/Planning responsibilities to stay current with the functionality of our systems and processes
  • Work cross-functionally across the organization to develop new processes/procedures as needed


A Supply Chain Team Lead will possess and/or demonstrate the ability to:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as developed oral and written communication skills to deal with internal and external customers.
  • Positive attitude
  • Working knowledge of all purchasing and planning functions within ERP system
  • Leader that is organized and self-motivated
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis in Excel for data mining and management



  • Secondary education is a plus preferably in Business or Supply Chain or equivalent field
  • Experience in procurement, sourcing, planning or supply chain experience is required
  • APICS Certified (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus
  • Work experience/knowledge in a manufacturing environment is a plus


Working Demands / Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires working at a desk and computer throughout the day
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment to meet company metrics


Reports to:  Planning and Scheduling Supervisor 


Conclusion:  The Supply Chain Team Lead will exemplify the high standards that have come to be associated with WSC.  As an ESOP owner, acting with honor, integrity, and positivity is imperative.   The Supply Chain – Team Lead’s primary objective is to ensure that all Buying & Planning tasks are completed in a timely manner and consistent with established departmental guidelines and procedures.
