Overview

The Accounting Associate is responsible for general accounting duties such as processing of customer payments and credit adjustments. This position will be in charge of maintaining our vendor address book and all related documentation required. Portions of the day will be spent on high volume data entry of information and troubleshooting issues that arise. A WSC Accounting Associate will exemplify the high standards that have come to be associated with WSC.  As an interregnal part of the finance structure, the Accounting Associate faces their position with politeness, honor, integrity and the willingness to do what our competition will not in every client interaction.

Responsibilities

Duties to include (not limited to):    

  • Application of customer payments accurately
  • Maintain vendor address book
  • Completion of vendor credit applications and W9 maintenance
  • Maintain vendor certificates of insurance on website
  • General accounting duties within accounts receivable, invoicing and returns
  • Process return and credit requests for customers and reps  
  • Respond to customer inquiries and fulfill customer requests 
  • Maintain office supplies and monitor inventory
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

An Accounting Specialist will possess and/or demonstrate the ability to:

  • Exhibit good attendance and stability in the work place.  
  • Interact and communicate with customers and co-workers in a clear and professional manner. 
  • Instill Self-Motivation. 
  • Comply with strict adherence to deadlines. 
  • Display attention to detail, proficient writing, verbal and organizational skills

Education / Experience:

  • Two year degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and CRM helpful. 
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable and Customer Service preferred
  • 6,000 or more keystrokes per hour. 

Reports to:  Manager of Accounting Services

 

 

Working Demands / Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Continuous computer use.
