Overview

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Quality Manager will lead and promote the facility’s Quality Program by systematically identifying quality gaps and implementing robust solutions to ensure Delivered Quality to our Customers. The individual will partner with the process owners to develop and implement procedures to ensure quality and consistency of the Waudena product. The Quality Manager proactively identifies risks, assesses the relevant controls, and executes on the necessary actions.

This is a full-time on-site role for a Quality Manager located in Wausau, Wisconsin. The Quality Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing quality control procedures and systems, monitoring and analyzing quality performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and leading quality improvement initiatives. The Quality Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

The Quality Manager will possess and/or demonstrate the ability to:

  • Absolute focus on developing a Quality Program that achieves Delivery Quality to our Customers, with no on-site defects.
  • Create/improve visibility and control into quality processes across manufacturing operations and supplier networks
  • Minimize scrap, rework and returned materials
  • Build in complete product and process traceability into production process
  • Conduct regular Quality Assurance Reviews across all aspects of the program and issue formal reporting to Senior Management
  • Standardized processes for responding to adverse events across the enterprise
  • Provide training and direction to various functions across the organization to mitigate risk
  • Support the team in researching emerging trends/best practices and determine implications of proposed methodologies on meeting business unit strategy
  • Develop, implement, and maintain testing and oversight processes to support the program and reporting
  • Coordinate directly with wide range of stakeholders across the organization and external vendors to resolve issues, as required
  • Monitor adverse events in real-time
  • Data collection from across manufacturing cells/departments
  • Document management, Traceability, Statistical process control (SPC), Dashboards
  • NC/CAPA (non-conformance and corrective & preventive action)
  • Automated product quality planning, Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Education / Experience:

  • Experience in the Windows and Doors industry is considered an asset.
  • At least 5 years experience in quality management, process improvement, and risk management
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and systems
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting quality performance metrics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in leading quality improvement initiatives
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and/or AS9120 is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field is preferred
  • Quality certification such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Six Sigma Green Belt, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is strongly preferred
  • Black Belt or Green Belt Six Sigma certification is a plus
  • Lean manufacturing experience an asset.
  • Strong Microsoft computer knowledge as well as knowledge of SPC (CPK, PPK).
  • An understanding of KPI’s relating to quality and customer satisfaction and an ability to drive measurable improvements in all areas of quality.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining standards, methods, testing and evaluation of a data driven quality program
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing process improvement techniques including, but not limited to, SQDCI, OTD, TPS, and Continuous Improvement methodologies and activities.
